This page was created to provide education regarding emergency treatment of upper extremity disorders to providers working in urgent care and emergency departments. Once a year, we offer a continuing education course providing hands-on demonstrations and practice of upper extremity injury care.
Course Objectives
Evaluate, manage, and establish appropriate care plans for acute conditions of the hand and upper extremity.
Perform minor hand procedures (nail bed repairs, drainage of infections, etc.)
Learn techniques for local anesthesia, injections, and aspirations
Improve fracture reduction and splinting techniques
